VMware vSphere Interview Questions....Updating More Soon..

01. What is Virtualization.

Virtualization is creation of virtual is rather than actual version of something Such as
Hardware virtualization         VMWARE VSPHERE / CITRIX XEN SERVER/ MICROSOFT HYPER V
Desktop Virtualization     VMWARE VDI / CITRIX XEN DESKTOP
Application Virtualization CITRIX XEN APP / VMWARE THINK APP

02.What is Hardware virtualization & Advantages of hardware Virtualization

Transforming Hardware resources in to software layer is called Hardware virtualization, using hardware virtualization we can run multiple operating system’s concurrently on a piece of since hardware

So we can reduce Hardware Resources
Save Power, cooling, Space.
Provide high available to Virtual Machines
Easy to manage.

03.What is Desktop virtualization & what are its Advantages

Access Home Citrix Xenapp Server Over The Internet.....Coming Soon

Access Home ESXi Server Over The Internet.....Not finished Yet

Method 1

01. Install ESXi Server on Physical connect internet directly to that. (In this case required Public IP)
02. using that Public IP Connect your ESXi Server from Outside world.

Method 2

01. Install ESXi Server on Physical / Virtual Machine If your installing ESXi on a Virtual Machine Keep
      Network Mode as Bridged
02. Configure Username & Password Static IP (Local IP As per your Router Series 192.168.0.X)
03. Than Connect ESXi Server Locally by vSphere Client...
      Its Working!.... Fine

But the Question is How to Connect your server Over Internet

Do you Connect the same By way opening vSphere Client in from your Machine and by entering Server Local IP Address 192.168.0.200 and Root username and Password    NO.

04. First Identify what How is your Physical Architecture.

Per Ex Below is the your Architecture.

you can able to access your ESXi Server in the same Network, but your not able to access over internet

First Identify what is your Public IP

Note: Home Internet Connection will provide you Dynamic Public IP , Rather than Static Public IP
So your Public IP Changes Frequently.

Identifying whats your Dynamic Public IP
Go to www.google.com and type what is my IP, it will show you, Your Public IP.

Access Your Server Using that Public IP Ex. 124.123.XXX.XXX

Required Ports the communication between vSphere Client to ESXi Server - 443

Forward the Port  that port from Public IP to Local IP.

The Challenge is The Dynamic Public IP will changes frequently.
Here we have one option to point our Dynamic Public IP pointing to a Public URL using
Dyndns.org.

How to Register DYNDNS.ORG

Go to dyndns.org and Register using your email Id and password findally it will provide you a username and password with url.

Register that informration in your router in dyndns tab.

once this is done.

your Router which has public dynamic IP that will always pointing to "xyz.dyndns.org"

now you can access your Dynamic Public IP with the Url which out verifying daily.

Physical ESXI Server :  192.168.0.200
Ports Forwarded        :  443 for ESXI communication for Public IP to Local IP
:  902 UDP port for Heartbeat to Display VMS in Console

Even if you wanted to Access Physical  ESXi Server by Putty than
Forward                    :   22 Port to ESXi Serve r(192.168.0.200)

Now your Lab is Ready for online

How to Format ESXi Pen Drive/ SD Card

1. Connect pen drive to your system which is Loaded ESXi Hypervisor
2. Go to CMD> type Disk List
It will show DISK 0 and Disk 1 Available according to your system physical Disks.
3. Type Select Disk 1 which is ESXi Loaded Pen Drive/ SD Card.
4. Then type Clean, it will do clean automatically.
5. Then go to My computer >Disk management Select Pen Drive and format it.
